Once again, Yen Press dominates the competition with a range of licenses. I’m sure many fans went ballistic over Baccano! being acquired. I think I was most disappointed with Viz Media’s announcements, especially since they’ve been making such a big deal about Shojo Beat’s 10th anniversary. I guess they’re banking on Vampire Knight and Ouran High School Host Club fans to make a profit on those series. They still haven’t licensed Ao Haru Ride. Did Strobe Edge do poorly? And with all the recent shoujo anime based on manga, they didn’t choose to go for any of them?

Princess Jellyfish intrigues me because it’s a josei title and because of all the hype the anime had around it. I love Crimson Prince, and I’m hoping Yen Press will turn it into a physical release. I’m also hoping Sweetness and Lightning will see a print version.

Thanks for listing out all the announcements. ^_^_v

I was just as disappointed by Viz’s announcements. I had expected Viz would’ve picked up Ao Haru Ride, too. I guess I’ll just have to be happy with my German copies for now. I do wish some of the titles in German would get picked up over here. From 5 to 9 by Miki Aihara being on top of that list along with Daytime Shooting Star!! >_<

I'll admit I did jump up and have a fangirl moment over the Baccano! novels when I saw the tweets. I'm also looking forward to more Log Horizon.

      You’re welcome! 🙂

I would have been money on Ao Haru Ride. Glad no one took me up on that offer!

But yeah, Viz (especially their Shojo Beat line) was a big disappointment. Yen Press was a shocker because they’ve picked up so much already this year. They’re really going after Viz & Kodansha. Maybe they’ll start going after those longer Hakusensha titles Viz should be picking up…

The Princess Jellyfish anime was good so it’s nice to see that the source material is getting translated.

I remember hearing a lot about the anime, but I kept getting it confused with Squid Girl. (>_<) But reading the summaries along with all the positive reviews makes me excited for it.
