Civil rights have come a long way in the U.S., but we still have a way to go. Lots of other countries still need to catch up. Black, white, gay, straight, male, female, it shouldn’t matter. People are people. Never give up the fight for equal rights.

Barnes & Noble

It’s the last day of the Manga Mania sale at Barnes & Noble. Buy two manga, get the third one free. Offer is available in-store and online. Shipping is free on $25+.

Note that while Members get an additional 10% off at their local store, a lot of titles are available for less than list price online. The sale is calculating based on current price, so if your titles are over 10% off (or you are not a member), you are better off buying your books online. Preorders also are working.

Get 20% off one item with code 3N32VQM1FRV51. Alternatively, get 15% off your order $50+ with coupon BNJAN50. Codes expires today but will combine with the sale on manga.

Best Buy

Get $25 off your $100 order at Best Buy when you use Visa Checkout. You need to be signed in to your BestBuy.com account, but you can use any credit card. (It doesn’t have to be a Visa card.)

You can use gift cards (like this $5 one) as a filler if needed, but this will slightly reduce your discount.

Best deals are on video games if you have Gamers Club Unlocked. Get two console games or three handheld games along with a $5 gift card for around $77 plus tax. Preorders do work including Nintendo Switch games.

Offer ends January 21st or while supplies last. I wouldn’t count on it lasting the whole week, so get your orders in!

Books-a-Million

Millionaire’s Club members at Books-a-Million will save an additional 20% with this coupon. Non-members will save 10% with the same coupon.

Online, members will automatically save an additional 10%. Shipping starts at $3.99.

Both offers end today.

ComiXology

Get 15% off your purchase at ComiXology with code READCOMICS. Code expires May 31st. Limit one per account.

As an idea, combine this with the Blue Exorcist sale (ends today) or Kodansha Comics sale (ends tomorrow). For example, get The Ghost and the Lady 1 for $.84 after coupon. Considering the physical version retails for $19.99, this is over 90% off.

To commemorate these deals let us bask in some terrible dubbing.

Yeah at least they made an effort to get someone with a different nationality to speak in their native tongue. Some shows just everyone speak in the same language.

The guy they hired pronounces the words better than Squid Girl speaking English, although he is a but wooden. The Japanese viewers probably wouldn’t notice though. If you don’t understand the lingo it’s hard to judge if someone is acting well. That’s why I don’t get why some people say Japanese voice actors are so much better than English ones.
