If you don’t know what my Diaries are, please go here. Spoilers ahoy!
Otherwise, let’s go!
On the way to Cosmo Canyon, there is a — I’m assuming — forced encounter.
Cave of the Gi is mostly the same. Magic Counter is given in this cave. I like how a lot of these types of Support Materia is given much earlier in the game. However, linked slots are a premium, so you definitely have to pick and choose what you want.
Cait Sith’s Limits have been changed drastically apparently. He now gets a 1-2 Limit: Transform. I’m guessing Toy Soldier, Lucky Girl, and those are his other Limits. I’m guessing Game Over is gone so that people can’t just Slots the ultimate Bosses away. Unfortunately, I picked a most inopportune battle to test out Transform, as he was immediately Death Sentenced. He was one cast of Fire2 away from victory. Luckily, I wasn’t too far into the cave since I was trying to get it on my Enemy Skill Materia. (I forgot to pick up Frog Song.)
So this was one of the few Bosses I knew what to expect: Gravity damage instead of Fire. So that probably was a huge factor. Really though, I happened to wipe out one of the Heavy Lights really early, so that helped me keep the battle under my control. Makes up for the silly KO earlier.
On to Nibelheim! Of course, Tifa has to come along. It’s almost time for the safe Boss, one whose name I actually know. Will that help me? We’ll see!
KO KOunter: 24

Does Cait Sith ever stand still? Just look at him flap his arms around like a loon.
I’m still trying to understand how a man controls a cat robot thing who somehow controls a fat moogle robot thing. Like, if Stop is cast on Reeve, could Cait Sith and the moogle still move?
