This is a bit lengthy, but it’s VERY IMPORTANT, so please read if you visited Daiyamanga between late March 2019 and May 27, 2019. (more…)
So I just got the Platinum trophy for Kingdom Hearts III. I have a lot of things to say. But how should I say them? I usually try to be spoiler-free or spoiler-light in my reviews, but how much should I reveal? What is a good balance between talking about the game and keeping it open for different audiences? Some people may not have played a Kingdom Hearts game before while others have played through all of them multiple times. I thought about using spoiler tags and headings, those aren’t always perfect. I mean, I got spoiled even though I was avoiding spoilers. Thanks a lot, jerks who decide to plaster ending images on their YouTube page.
Then it came to me. This is Kingdom Hearts III. Why not three reviews?
Okay, I say three reviews, but that’s a bit of a misnomer. Think of this as one review with a bunch of spoiler tags. They may not be exactly the same, but obviously my overall thoughts will be similar. I don’t expect everyone to read all three. Rather, please choose the one that best fits your comfort level.
Beginner Mode (aka spoiler-free review)
- You’ve never played a KH game.
- You’ve casually played one or two KH games a while back.
- You just don’t want to be spoiled.
Standard Mode (aka minor spoilers review)
- You’ve played several of the KH games.
- You are playing KH3 or plan to in the near future.
- You’ve watched the later or final trailers.
Proud Mode (aka spoileriffic review)
- You’ve finished KH3, including seeing the secret ending.
- You don’t care if the ending or anything else is spoiled.
- You just want to freely talk about the game.
One post will go live over the next three days. So, I hope to see you in at least one of the posts!
♫Have yourself a trashy little Valentine’s
With some manga blight
From now on, the romances won’t be so right
Have yourself a trashy little Valentine’s
Cuz these guys are cray
From now on, the romances make you go, “No way!”♫
As of February 4th, http://daiyamanga.wordpress.com/ will no longer redirect to https://daiyamanga.com/.
Many of you were so kind to follow me in my first two years, when I was hosted by WordPress.com. After I switched to being self-hosted (i.e. a WordPress.org site), I purchased the site redirection feature to automatically send visitors from http://daiyamanga.wordpress.com/ to the new site’s URL (https://daiyamanga.com). But I have chosen not to renew.
At the time Daiyamanga v2 launched, I did follow instructions to import all my dear followers, but I know many of you can attest to issues with WordPress’ Reader randomly deleting or hiding blogs.
If you would like to continue to follow Daiyamanga on WordPress, please check your followed sites list. If you want to manage your followed sites, please go here for instructions, which also shows the method for adding any site manually. Feel free to delete http://daiyamanga.wordpress.com/ from your list, but I hope that you re-follow! Otherwise, please use the Follow me on WordPress link to the right (on desktop) or at the bottom of the page (on mobile).
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. This post will remain stickied to the top of my homepage for approximately two weeks.
As always, thank you for following and supporting Daiyamanga!
It’s a totally ordinary book. One that wouldn’t be out of place in a random town…. say, one named Tokisadame.
As expected, Square Enix recently announced a PC version of Final Fantasy XV. And while this list of recommended specs was later said to be a miscommunication, it still serves as a reminder that my 5-year-old loud laptop — with its missing keys and loud fan — is showing its age. So what should an Alleyway Jack (Jill?) Rank 10 Hunter search for in her next PC?
It’s the second anniversary of this site, and to celebrate, Daiyamanga is now self-hosted!
What does this mean?
- First, a domain name. Please update your bookmarks, feeds, etc to https://daiyamanga.com/ instead of the old WordPress.com hosted site.
- New theme that I hope keeps the accessibility of the site.
- Posts have been reorganized. Should be much more efficient to find what you want.
- Expired deals no longer clutter up the main page.
- A user rating system on posts. Now you can rate the series I review out of 5 diamonds.
- WordPress.com followers should have been migrated, but if you can’t see (or are a new visitor) Daiyamanga posts in the WordPress Reader, you need to add it manually.
Being as this is just going live, there are bound to be some bugs and glitches. If you notice any major slowdowns, find the site hard to browse, stumble across a broken link, etc., please let me know. I welcome any suggestions.
EDIT: It has come to my attention that many of you have been having problem commenting. I have adjusted some settings and plugins, so please let me know if you are still having issues!
I also hope now that Daiyamanga v2 has launched, I can get back into the swing of things. My goal is to have more posts and a little more variety in v2. I hope you enjoy the new Daiyamanga!
Oopsie, I’ve let these pile up again. I’ll get to them all… eventually.
Anyway, I want to thank
I recently received word that Loot Crate has been interested in hearing how people would design their own “dream crate” if given the chance. Loot Crate, as you may know, is a monthly subscription box service where you get four to six items for a retail value of $50 or more. Loot Crate also has an anime version, and Crunchyroll Premium members get special pricing. Since this is a “dream crate”, the sky is the limit.
My dream anime crate theme: magical girls. You may be familiar with the concept from series like Sailor Moon and Cardcaptor Sakura, but the genre really includes any story of females with special magical abilities. Don’t mistake magical girl stories as just being for little girls; these heroines’ stories can be enjoyed by young and old, female or male, action fans and romance fans… everyone!
I also post on TheOASG. My column goes up every Wednesday. I focus on money and the anime/manga industry (deal shopping, supporting companies, etc.). You will also see me pop up in other write-ups as well. So if you aren’t sick of me yet, check out my column there (Please Save My Money) as well as all the other awesome reviews, articles, and information on TheOASG.
